How to create a Stocklog+ Shortcut

002: Application Information

Stocklog+ allows you to move your folder anywhere you wish: local drive, network share, synchronized folder, USB Key, etc. With this flexibility, you will need to modify the shortcut to where ever you have decided the stocklog folder is to reside. By default, it is placed directly on the C: drive, however, it could easily be a subfolder within another folder, i.e. C:\Program Files\stocklog and work perfectly fine - you may need to adjust the shortcut if you move the folder after installing.

Also keep in mine, if you manually move the folder, it will break the uninstaller. Stocklog+ does not install any files into the system directory, registry, etc.

Info
Initial startup may feel slow because Stocklog+ is loading ticker art, querying for stock quotes, etc. Once it's up and going, you should not experience any lag

Folder information:
  1. stocklog: Main folder containing all files required to run Stocklog+
  2. dbs: Database folder containing the SQLite3 databases. Before updating Stocklog+ you should always make sure you have a backup of the stocklog.sqlite file
  3. backups: backups auto-created each time you EXIT stocklog. To keep this directory manageable, Stocklog+ retains the last 5 recent SQLite files. The file name for example: stocklog_20260322T201909 = stocklog_YYYYMMDDT(ime)HHMMSS. The time is 24hr clock.
  4. imports: location where you should place the broker .csv files.
  5. imports\completed: processed files are located here and never deleted by Stocklog+, you can always move the file back to \imported and run it again if you need to. We suggest zipping the files into an archive per quarter/year. You broker also deletes the records from their systems, it should become best practice to keep these for your records.
  6. settings: file keeps track of screen location, current theme, and other screen settings. If you ever have a problem with the display, deleting this file may get you back on track. Also see Window Tips in section 4: Main Screen
  7. roboto + raleway: Fonts used by Stocklog+, if you don't install the font's it will use your OS system default

Additional Information:
  1. Stocklog+ requires Internet access to pull stock information currently from Yahoo! Finance
  2. Stock quotes are updated in the 'ClosePPS' column every 15+ min after the first update from program startup
  3. Stocklog+ only updates stocks and crypto, not options. Rows containing a 'CloseDate' are not updated
