001: Where to download Stocklog+
Once you're on the download page, choose any of the three locations to download the application:
FULL: Download this version if this is the first time you're using Stocklog+, it contains all files AND the stock symbol art database.
LITE: Download this version if you have somehow deleted required files or they've become corrupted. You can also possibly use this version to update your existing version by simply overwriting the current files in the stocklog folder. Check the changelog or the forums before updating to make sure that is a valid option.
The installer decompresses the files into the location you choose. NOTE: Be sure the files reside in the final folder named stocklog. You can copy the folder anywhere you choose, the application is self-contained and does not 'hook' into the OS. It can even reside on a USB key, though I don't recommend it unless it's USB3 or better.
Two folders to know about:
data_import: Folder is where you will place your broker .CSV files for import into the database. See
Data Import dbs: This folder holds the database. The only reason to access this folder is if you're database has become totally inoperable and you need to start over without downloading the application again. See Deleting The Database
